Shanghai Dragons Acquire Goaltender Amir Miftakhov from Ak Bars

The Shanghai Dragons have acquired goaltender Amir Miftakhov from Ak Bars Kazan in exchange for financial compensation. The 26-year-old netminder has signed a two-year contract with the club.

A product of the Kazan hockey system, Miftakhov has appeared in 87 KHL games with Ak Bars, posting 38 wins, a 2.18 goals-against average, and a .922 save percentage.

He spent the 2021-22 season in North America, playing in both the AHL and ECHL, before returning to Russia. Last season, Miftakhov was back in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves, where he earned 14 victories in 32 appearances.
