Shanghai Dragons Sign Defenseman Calen Addison to One-Year Deal

The Shanghai Dragons have signed 26-year-old Canadian defenseman Calen Addison to a one-year contract.

Addison has appeared in 204 AHL games over his career, recording 125 points (24 goals, 101 assists). He also has 155 games of NHL experience with the Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks, totaling 51 points (6 goals, 45 assists).

Last season, Addison played for the Utica Comets in the AHL, posting 31 points (6 goals, 25 assists) in 65 games.

On the international stage, Addison helped Canada capture gold at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he led all defensemen in assists.

He is especially effective on the power play and operating from the blue line, where he moves the puck well and has the vision to find the next play.
