Shanghai Dragons Sign Forward Martin Frk on Two-Year Contract

The Shanghai Dragons have signed Czech forward Martin Frk to a two-year contract.

Frk has spent the majority of his career in North America, playing across several leagues, including the NHL and AHL. In 575 AHL games, he has recorded 469 points on 234 goals and 235 assists. He also won the Calder Cup in 2017.

Last season, Frk played for the Calgary Wranglers in the AHL, producing 60 points in 66 games with 30 goals and 30 assists.

“Frk is a true goal-scorer with extensive experience in North America,” said Evgeny Artyukhin, general manager of the Shanghai Dragons. “He has consistently maintained a high level of production. He has an accurate, powerful shot, reads the game very well and knows how to finish chances. His scoring instinct is his biggest strength – he is always in the right place at the right time. A skilled and productive forward like him will strengthen our offense. We are pleased that a player of this caliber is coming to the KHL. This is a major success for our club and for the league as a whole. Frk has the ability to become one of the leading offensive players in the KHL.”

With the addition of Frk, the Dragons bring in an elite shooter and proven offensive producer who can make an immediate impact in Shanghai’s top-six forward group.
