Dragons to Return to SKA Arena for 2026–27 Season

The Shanghai Dragons have officially confirmed that they will continue to call SKA Arena home for the upcoming 2026–27 KHL season.

Following their debut campaign in Saint Petersburg – played at the world’s largest hockey arena – the club is doubling down on a market that quickly embraced one of the league’s most unique and entertaining teams.

A home away from home

The 2025–26 season marked a historic chapter for the Dragons, as they brought hockey with a Chinese identity to Saint Petersburg. The team delivered memorable wins, vibrant game-day experiences and a distinctive cultural atmosphere that resonated with fans.

Despite an up-and-down season on the ice, one thing became clear: SKA Arena turned into a true home for Shanghai.

The organization emphasized the overwhelming support they received throughout the year, with strong attendance and a growing fan base embracing the club’s identity, style and presentation.

Looking ahead

The Dragons will return in the fall with renewed ambitions, aiming to build on the foundation established during their first season in Saint Petersburg.

Fans can expect:
• Enhanced game-day experiences
• Expanded entertainment and themed events
• Signature Chinese cultural elements
• A continued focus on modern, top-notch hockey

The club also promised to come back “stronger and wiser,” with the goal of delivering better results on the ice.

Season finale event

Before turning the page, the Dragons will host a special Season Finale event on March 28 at SKA Arena.

Admission will be free, with fans invited to celebrate the team’s first season in Saint Petersburg. A premium experience option will also be available in Sector 206, offering exclusive activities – including a rare opportunity to step onto the ice and take part in interactive festivities.

With momentum building both on and off the ice, the Dragons’ return to SKA Arena sets the stage for an even bigger second chapter in 2026–27.
