Shanghai Dragons Sign Vladislav Barulin, Pavel Koledov To One-year Deals

The Shanghai Dragons have signed forward Vladislav Barulin and defenseman Pavel Koledov to one-year contracts after both players impressed during training camp and the team’s preseason tournament in Minsk.

Barulin has appeared in 222 KHL games with Amur Khabarovsk and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, recording 97 points (45 goals, 52 assists). Last season, the forward posted 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in 40 games with Neftekhimik.

Koledov brings extensive KHL experience to the Dragons’ blue line. The veteran defenseman has played 728 games for Sibir Novosibirsk, HC Sochi, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Salavat Yulaev Ufa, Avangard Omsk, Admiral Vladivostok and SKA St. Petersburg, totaling 42 goals and 101 assists.

Known for his work in his own end and physical play, Koledov has also recorded 882 blocked shots and 706 hits during his KHL career. Last season, he split time between Admiral and SKA, finishing with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists), 91 blocked shots and 45 hits in 52 games.
