Shanghai Dragons Sign Gagarin Cup Champion Mikhail Naumenkov to One-Year Contract

The Shanghai Dragons have signed Gagarin Cup-winning defenseman Mikhail Naumenkov to a one-year contract.

Naumenkov spent last season with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. Over his KHL career, he has appeared in 752 games, recording 165 points on 40 goals and 125 assists, along with a plus-182 rating. He has also delivered 550 hits and blocked 759 shots.

“Mikhail Naumenkov will bring experience and stability to our game,” said Evgeny Artyukhin, general manager of the Shanghai Dragons. “He has proven his quality many times, winning the Gagarin Cup and playing more than 700 games in the League. His ability to join the attack is an important weapon, while his selfless defensive play, willingness to block shots and reliability in key moments make him an important part of our blue line.”

With the signing, Shanghai adds a proven, battle-tested defenseman whose experience, two-way game and composure can strengthen the Dragons’ defensive core.
