Egor Kozlov Named Head of Medical Department for Shanghai Dragons
The Shanghai Dragons have appointed Egor Kozlov as the club’s Head of Medical Department ahead of the 2026–27 season.
A Candidate of Medical Sciences, highest-category physician, and assistant professor in the Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Kozlov brings more than 21 years of experience in professional hockey.
He began his career with CSKA Moscow before spending 11 seasons with SKA St. Petersburg, where he was part of teams that captured two Gagarin Cups, three Continental Cups, and the Russian Championship.
Kozlov has also served on the Russian national team’s medical staff since 2007, contributing to an impressive list of international achievements, including IIHF World Championship gold medals in 2008 and 2009, bronze medals in 2007, 2016, 2017 and 2019, Olympic gold at the 2018 Winter Games, and Olympic silver in 2022. In recognition of his work, Kozlov was honored with the Alexei Zimin Award, presented annually to the KHL’s top team physician.
