Shanghai Dragons Sign Forward Nikita Alexandrov To One-year Contract

The Shanghai Dragons have signed forward Nikita Alexandrov to a one-year contract.

Alexandrov has appeared in 264 AHL games with the Utica Comets, Springfield Thunderbirds and Ontario Reign, recording 197 points (77 goals, 120 assists) with a plus-8 rating.

The forward also brings NHL experience, having played 51 games with the St. Louis Blues, where he registered nine points (3 goals, 6 assists).

During the 2025–26 AHL season, Alexandrov produced 58 points (17 goals, 41 assists) in 71 games.

“Nikita was born in Germany and began his hockey career there. In 2020, he represented Russia at the World Junior Championship and helped the team win a silver medal. He later continued his career in North America, spent a season in Finland and worked his way to the NHL, establishing himself along the way as a forward with strong offensive instincts.

“Nearly 200 points in 264 AHL games is a significant level of production. Alexandrov is an intelligent two-way forward with speed and strong skating ability. He has an accurate shot, sees the ice well and can create for his teammates.

“We believe Nikita will add another dimension to our offense and make our forward group stronger.”
